Food safety Course Level 1 (Refresher) is a key requirement in food service operations, where proper handling and hygiene practices are essential to protect public health. This course is designed for to ensure that food handlers continue to practise good hygiene, the refresher food hygiene training course for food handlers.
1st Refresher Training:
Must be completed within 5 yrs from the date of initially passing the WSQ Food safety Course Level 1
2nd and Subsequent Refresher Trainings:
Every 10th year from the date of passing the last refresher training.
On completion of this unit, participants will have the knowledge and skills in Food Safety and Hygiene and be able to apply them at their workplace.
The course will cover the following five topics:
This course course is suitable for chefs, sous chefs, and cooks & Kitchen assistants, food stall assistants, bartenders and mixologists. Workers in food manufacturing companies.
No formal qualification - Participants should have the ability to converse, read & write in English.
(a) NITEC Certificate equivalent or higher, in food science related courses with food safety modules.
(b) Mandatory to have passed WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 (formerly known as WSQ Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures / Basic Food Hygiene Course).
(c) Mandatory to have passed WSQ Food Safety Course Level 3 (formerly known as WSQ Conduct Food & Beverage Hygiene Audit / Food Hygiene Officer Course).
(d) Mandatory to have WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) full qualification or equivalent. Not applicable to lecturers/trainers employed full-time by Institutes of Higher Learning in Singapore.
(e) Mandatory to have at least two (2) years’ of F&B experience in supervisory OR training OR consultancy area.
(f) Mandatory to have work experience in either the food retail sector or the food manufacturing sector.
