The Train the Trainer Safe MEWP Operations (T3SMO) course aims to equip Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to effectively train others in safe Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and reducing the risk of accidents in the workplace.

By effectively conveying the necessary knowledge and skills for safe MEWP operations, trainers contribute to promoting a culture of safety and minimizing the risk of workplace accidents.

Types of MEWPs and their Functions
MEWP – Hazards Identification and Risk Assessment
MEWP Pre-Operation Procedures and Inspections
Safe MEWP Operation Practices
Effective Communication and Supervision
MEWP – Practical Demonstration (Boom Lift, Scissor Lift & Vertical Personnel Platform):
Do’s and Don’ts of Safe Work Practices Demonstrated by Trainer
Case Studies and
Q&A Written Assessment

Requirements to be a trainer and assessor for this course

Domain qualification: The trainer/assessor must be a domain subject matter expert, possess a WSQ-Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (WSH Professional Level B)
Domain work experience: The trainer/assessor must possess a minimum of five years’ relevant experience in subject matter.
WSQ trainer/assessor pedagogic requirement: The trainer/assessor must have attained a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Diploma in Adult Continuing Education (DACE) or Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP).
WSQ trainer/assessor experience: The trainer/assessor should preferably possess a minimum of one year of training experience.
All adult educators are required to attain 10 hours (minimum) annually by attending Continuing Professional and Development (CPD) courses conducted by appointed training providers.

The trainer for the course is not permitted to be the assessor for the same course learners during the assessment.
